March 4 Deadline For Cmex Media And Youth Fellowships

WASHINGTON, DC (February 25, 2008) - Reporters, editors and young people could, with the stroke or two of their pens, secure fellowships to attend one of the most sought after media gatherings in the Caribbean.

Counterpart International is inviting journalists and youth to apply for the upcoming 17th staging of the Caribbean Media Exchange on Sustainable Tourism (CMEx) to be held in the Caribbean in the Spring.

CMEx is an interactive workshop that allows journalists and young people from the Caribbean, North America and Europe to interact with development specialists and representatives of the hospitality sector, civil society and government. Under review are tourism policies aimed at benefiting the lives of Caribbean communities. The dates and destination for this 12th full edition of CMEx will be announced shortly.

Journalists and editors of any age, and young people (aged 16 to 21), can apply for a limited number of fellowships which cover airfare, accommodation and registration. Partial fellowships covering accommodation and registration also will be awarded.
