Willet    (Catoptrophorus semipalmatus)  - At Grey Pond East End Anguilla

The Willet bird is abundant on the Island around most ponds. It was usually the first bird to voice the presence of outsiders at the pond and it usually appeared over the heads of photographers and flew directly towards them as they took pictures

It's behaviour closely resembled that of the Black-necked stilt, though slightly more aggressive.

Flying low and  sending off very loud cries.

The pond featured on this page, is one that may be converted into a marina.

As  you walk along its edge  you will hear a chorus of sounds, and see a variety of life.

Several nests were visible around this pond on the day these photos were taken.
