August 1st 2007: The modest crowd that came out to the carnival village last evening were
treated to a very good show by a strong field of contestants. Fifteen
calypsonians, performed in two rounds starting at 9:00pm and extending to
2:20am, with die hard Calypso fans ensuring they didn't miss a beat.
First
round songs were in general better performed than the second round but in our
opinion the men of the evening were ... we know better!
The competition will be
tough next Wednesday August 8th when the final eight attempt to dethrone,
Calypso Monarch, Queen B.
The Final Eight Selected Were: Hot Shot, Dynamite, Repeater,
Sunbeam, Gossip, Springer, Fresh Cold, and Dr.
Splinter
